Dr Stelios Kouzeleas is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Interior Architecture of the International Hellenic University specializing in digital spatial representations with a strong background in digital design, multimedia, virtual reality and innovative digital computing applications in space.

He is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds a Master's degree (Integrated Master) in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He also holds two postgraduate degrees in the field of development of digital spatial design systems, IT applications and artificial intelligence from the Faculty of Architecture of Nancy, France, and in the field of digital design and spatial simulation from the Faculty of Architecture of Bordeaux, France. He holds a PhD from the University of Bordeaux 1 in the field of development and application of digital design, simulation, multimedia and IT systems with a grade of Excellent (recognized by Europe-Greece-DOATAP). He holds 2 postdoctoral degrees in the field of digital online multimedia representations (1st Panhellenic award for researcher selection scholarship - European Regional Development Fund) and in the field of digital representations of territorial marketing (1st Panhellenic award for researcher selection scholarship - European Social Fund (ESF) of the EU and Ministry of Economy and Development). He has attended 8 annual supplementary studies (seminars) in the areas of IT applications, Innovation, Art, Culture, Design / Simulation and Sales.

He has taught (>20 years) as a University Professor at undergraduate and postgraduate level in 8 Universities in Greece and France (Ecole d’architecture et de Paysage de Bordeaux France, Ecole d’architecture de Paris Val de Seine Paris France, Université de Bordeaux I France, Université de Paris VI France, Université de Blaise Pascal de Clermont Ferrand France and in Greece at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, University of Thessaly, International Hellenic University). The teaching concerns issues of development and applications of computer science, digital interactivity, methodological development of systems and models of digital design and simulation, research and innovation. He has many years of research experience in the above respective subjects as his research and scientific work has been published in over 50 international scientific journals, conferences, theses, scientific reports with dozens of scientific references around the world (citations). He has participated in many European research programs in France and Greece (Louvre modeling & illumination, Bordeaux halls phase 1-2-3, Novagrimed, Lactimed, Transhumance, Horizon, PGS Terra Thessalia, Eco.muse). He is a scientific reviewer in multiple international scientific journals and conferences (Elsevier & Springer Editions) while he has served as a researcher and scientific associate in European research centers (CRAI-France, Grecau-Eriac France, EAX University of Thessaly-Greece).

At the same time, he has been a scientific manager in research and other programs ("University of Excellence" - Scholarship, KEDIVIM - DIPAE educational programs).

He has been awarded two scholarships for postdoctoral studies from the European Regional Development Fund of the EU as well as from the European Social Fund of the EU. He has also been awarded the 1st Panhellenic researcher selection award in the European research program HORIZON “HNV – High Natural Value” after a national competition of the University of Thessaly (2017). Finally, he has participated as Technical Director of work development at the company Human Innovation Technologies S.A, (2012-2015) which was awarded an innovation award from the EU and a grant from the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT).

He has also been honored with international distinctions, such as being selected to the global academic panel for the evaluation/definition of the World University Rankings by the British university ranking agency "Times Higher Education - (THE)", being selected as Guest Editor of the international scientific journal "Frontiers in Computer Science" (2.4 Impact Factor, 4.3 CiteScore, 2500 Citations) of the global Swiss publishing house "Frontiers", as well as being selected as co-organizer of the workshop "Advanced and Innovative web Apps 2025" of the "2025 International Conference on Computational Science and Its Applications". He has received multiple invitations as a distinguished speaker to present award-winning scientific work (best article) at multiple global conferences in Germany, the Netherlands, England, Turkey, as well as multiple invitations for the position of "Co-Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, Editorial board" in international scientific journals, while he has received two Best articles in 2 international scientific journals and has served as president of scientific conferences.

He has participated in the development, management and implementation of National and European programs at the K.E.K. Development of Thessaly (E.I.N., European Social Fund). He has worked as an Engineer and consultant for applications of design, simulation and analysis systems of technological needs in various design offices in Greece and abroad (Level 3, Marc Benayoun, N. Kaltsas, Freelance). He has worked as a Senior Consultant and 'Chef de projet' in information systems companies (SAP, Syntony, Cadra) (Paris) implementing, coordinating and managing many European projects (Turbomeca, Calcia, Haironville, Metro, Eurovia, Sofedit, Plasticomnium, Stef-Tfe, Sagem, Colgate, etc.) in various European countries (e.g., France, Belgium, Greece) (1998-2004) in issues of Pedagogical Engineering, Analysis and synthesis of work processes, Needs Analysis, Information Management, Innovation Management and Technological Strategy, Communication, Business Development, Marketing, Service Promotion, etc. He has served as Business Development Director at Human Innovation Technologies S.A. (innovation award from the EU), participating in the planning of development and innovation strategies, while at the same time he was responsible for planning, sales strategy and promotion of technology and innovation products and services in Greece and mainly abroad (international presentations, interviews, organization of international exhibitions, B2B with CEOs of multinationals, etc.). He has collaborated (Business Development) with a company developing and promoting innovative technological products and services in the sector, among others, of Tourism. He has actively participated as a special Advisor (innovatia systems) in the working group for smart specialization (RIS3) in the Cultural-Tourism sector as well as in Creative Tourism of the Regional Innovation Council of Thessaly of the Region of Thessaly (2014), while at the same time he actively participated in the writing of the action plan for smart specialization (RIS3) in the Cultural-Tourism sector on behalf of the Region of Thessaly. He is a special advisor and collaborator of development companies in European programs (Leader, CLLD, RDP, etc.), on issues of digital promotion of places, products, materials and intangible resources. He has participated in European Research programs (CRAI, GRECAU, Transumance, Horizon, Interreg, etc.) as well as in the European research program Lactimed (2015-16) as coordinator of promotional activities, communication, sales planning strategy and marketing of agri-food products and services abroad.

Dr. Stelios Kouzeleas has taught in the postgraduate program "Interventions in existing buildings and urban complexes" of the Department of Civil Engineering of the International Hellenic University and in the postgraduate program Dyntar of the Department of Spatial Planning, Urban Planning and Regional Development of the University of Thessaly in collaboration with the Universite Blaise-Pascal of Clermont-Ferrand, France, where he specializes in the field of digital design and interactive multimedia simulations.

He has also taught in the MASTER-DESS postgraduate program “Environment & Amenities for Architecture & Urban Planning” of the Université de Bordeaux 1 and the Ecole d’ Architecture et de Paysage de Bordeaux, France, in the Atelier Multimedia and at the undergraduate level of the Ecole d’ Architecture et de Paysage de Bordeaux and in the MASTER-DESS postgraduate program “Architecture and Urban Acoustics” of the Ecole d’ Architecture de Paris Val de Seine and the Université de Paris VI, France.

Finally, he has been active as a freelancer for many years in Greece and abroad in the fields of interactive digital application design, digital design/simulation, interactive websites and E-shops, Architecture/decoration, Project Development and product and service promotion, as well as Consulting. He is a member of the Greek Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other national and international organizations (ELINA – 2004, eCAADe – 2005) and speaks French, English and Greek.
