ΕΑ511 – Furniture Design II
The course is a specialization course in furniture design and introduction to ergonomics-anthropometry and methodology of design and production.
The aim of the course provides the necessary skills for solving design problems, selection of materials and mainly in design improvement (ergonomic & design) of furniture for use with the purpose of maximum benefit to the user. The furniture as a utilitarian object and means of serving human needs is formatted with synthetic processes close to art, in order to stimulate and engage dialogue.
In the theoretical part furniture design and specifications. Final product certification. Production Organization. Technical and economic study. Organization of industrial production and certification of furniture.
In the laboratory part, furniture design exercises with the help of electronic design tools, construction details and assembly methods. Proforma construction to scale. Manufacture and assembly of life-size furniture Organization of industrial production. Compilation of furniture certification documents.
